Tuesday November 7, 2011, two months after my surgery, I had a visit to a pain specialist Doctor, Doctor Staacke. He was very Doctorly but that was it. His nurse was great and aloud me to have my break down. I couldn't hold it back any longer. Pain for 2 months straight and I am at my limit.
We have scheduled a nerve block on December first upon insurance approval. I now have pain patch that we can stick on for twelve hours at a time & twelve hours off. I have new non-narcotic pain medication & now I have to take anti-seizure medication and gradually increase every three to five days. They do make me very sleepy and after one treatment all I do is sleep all day.
I have now missed my whole summer and now it looks like Thanksgiving and Christmas as well. Not to say that husband is worried that I will not have a job after all of this. My job is the last I can think about. I hope that we are heading in the right direction. I don't know how much more I can take of all of this.

October 17- Dr follow up
Went for my 6 weeks follow up with Dr Needle & process was not good. Due to my pain I am not healing as I should be. Dr is trying a new Narcotic, Oxycontin to see if this will help. Pain goes up & down. When down I can handle it & try to get some things done. I have been able to sew & make my kitchen curtains & finished up my bedroom curtains from last year. I even made homemade butterscotch oatmeal raisin cookies. After each one, even though I took it real slow & did it all day, I still ended up hurting so bad at the end of each day that I was crying and grounded to bed with 3 Ibuprofen and an ice pack. So much for trying to live like normal.
Called my Reed's group & my Caseworker, Karen said she will keep me off till November 20th. Another month, what are we going to do?

Fall Visit From a Friend
A dear friend of mine came by on Monday to see how I was doing. She brought us Butternut soup, Brownberry breads, a pumpkin cake like dessert & her smile. It was so nice out side that we sat on the deck till she saw me getting restless & then went for a walk with me. It was so nice to have company.
Nice to talk to someone who understands the pain I am going through not to say just mom issues we are having with our children. Great time to vent as well for both of us.
Hope to see or talk to her soon. Luv ya NK!

Warm Fall Day
Today we finally had a warm day. Do I get to enjoy it? Well the last part of it at least. Last night was the worse night ever. Finally broke down & took half of a pain pill. Took the pain away but now I was nauseous & sick as all can be. Even worse than that is Vic is sick as a dog. Hasn't been sick in last ten years & this year he catches it. Due to his medication he is now knocked out. We have to pick Jon up from work at 6 am. I took the chance & drove to 11 & 31 to pick him up. Had him drive back home for I was dying by the time I got there. Not to say I was scared to death. But you do what you have to do. When we got home I went right back to bed & slept till 2 pm.
Now I am up & Vic is coughing up a lung. He seems to be breaking up but is not feeling well and lives in a fog. Once I was up & dressed I asked Jon to walk with me to the mail box. That is when I received a sweet & wonderful card from my co-workers. They surprised me with a gift card to Michaels craft store. Now I can get yarn & items to finish making Christmas gifts.
Now Getting my wish list ready. So next time I am able to go out I will know what to buy. Thank You To SFNBC Co-Workers!

Fall Time With Me October 2011
Well since I've been recovering I have totally missed my summer. Now it is fall! With fall I normally will be canning. Since I can't do that I have been very restless and with this pain I am dealing with has made it worse. So, finding other avenues has been a challenge. So my Darling Husband, Victor brought out my yarns and beads. Now I am working on several projects. It depends on my level of pain and how long I can sit there.
Seeing my beads got me thinking & creating. I made these earrings so far.
Working with different mediums that I had yet to work with has been fun & challenging to me. I have more ideals coming & have started to draw them out so I don't forget them. My memory retention not the best right now.
I have also made a Christmas gift for one of my daughter-in-laws & working on the other two. Now I have to figure out what to make or get for our 5 boys. There are 7 grand kids to think of too. Slowly but surely. Thinking of making hats & scarves for the grand kids. If I can get the yarn for them that is.
Last night was the first time I was able to have a fire & to sit & enjoy it. So here Vic got me all settled & created this beautiful fire for us to enjoy.
It was a special night for us both. To relax & let the world go away just for a bit. I did sleep like a log for the first time since I cam home. Vic caught a cold. I feel so bad now.
